Telefoneren over WiFi

Over Wifinetwerken kan ook worden gebeld. Verschillende producenten hebben al toestellen op de markt gebracht. De meest bekende is misschien wel de Skype-phone. VoWifi of VoWLAN is het draadloze IP-telefoni over een Wifi netwerk.
Over deze netwerken kun je goedkoop bellen, alleen er zijn ook wat nadelen. Zo is de dekking natuurlijk niet overal optimaal en zul je vaak dicht bij een acces point moeten blijven staan. Ook vergt WiFi veel stroom van je batterij, zodat je ook niet te lang kunt bellen.
